The Violence of Prayer
“As white snowflakes fall quietly and thickly on a winter day, answers to prayer will settle down upon you at every step you take… The story of your life will be the story of pray and answer to prayer.” Ole Hallesby
Maybe you never thought about prayer as being a violent force. At the very least it is a powerful active ingredient of life. Jesus when talking to his disciples about John the Baptist said “… the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” [Matt. 11:12-13] Although God the Father has purchased all things for us through His Son Jesus, we still have a defeated enemy who wants to keep us thinking we are helpless. Prayer is the eviction notice to him to remove his influence from every area of our lives. Our enemy may be “white knuckled” holding on to things that are no longer his so we resist him by prayer. Our persistent prayer violently enforces the victory that is ours in Christ. Life is not easy, but when shared with God, every step and every situation becomes our “God Story” which is really “His Story” [History]. Do you have anything you could be praying about?Maybe you have never considered yourself to be a violent person. Why not take a moment to think about what a life of answer prayer might look like. “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” [James 5:16] Prayer will change our life stories. We are the house of God, and God’s house will be a house of prayer. Get violence in prayer Christian, it won’t hurt anything accept the violence of evil. Prayer will make a highway for all to see and bring the answer to every problem.
But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. Matt 6:6
