Only Half the Story
He brought you out of Egypt with His Presence, with His mighty power, 38 driving out from before you nations greater and mightier than you, to bring you in, to give you their land as an inheritance, as it is this day. Deut. 4:37-38 NKJV
Jesus has come as our deliverer. Even the title of deliverer declares that we must be delivered from something. Life is filled with challenges and we learn by experience how to work through them. As a believer, we have the promises of the availability of God’s presence and power to help us face these challenges. We are called to trials and tribulations. Trials are tests of character development. God working with us to take us out of one way of living into another way of living. When we are in trial the evidence of our reaction reveals the level of Christ’s nature in us. Tribulation on the other hand can be like a “Chinese Water Torture.” The constant dripping of a situation that does not seem like it will ever be resolved. We all love that now don’t we? “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.” In tribulations we call upon and invite the Holy Spirit to come and guide us out, and take us in. We all have “God Stories” [Testimonies] of this in our lives. If the stories have a beginning and an end, then it is a testimonies, these are monuments placed in our live declaring the presence and faithfulness of our deliverer. As we understand what part of the story we are living in today it can speak to us of our correct response. If you find yourselves only half the way through the story believe God for the testimony, the God Story, to be completed. God has always intended to bring you out of things for the purpose of taking you into His promised land. Let Him finish the chapters of “His mighty power” and the “driving out nations [things] greater and mightier than you.” There is a mighty “God Story” being written in your life with Him. Chapter 1?
