Consider: Revelation 2:28 “and I will give him the morning star.”;

Conside: Revelation 22:16“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”

When I get up in the morning it is still dark.  As I sip my coffee I look through the window, towards the two tall pine trees on the lake.  I am expecting to see that special star twinkling so brightly.  I only have about eight minutes to watch it before daylight chases it away.  As I stare at it, it seems to rise higher in the sky.  It only appears to rise.  Its location in the sky is unchangeable because it is actually the planet Venus.  When I cannot see it any more I know that it is still there.

Today’s Bible verses refer to Jesus as the morning star.  He said so Himself.  Early morning is a good time to look for Jesus, to pray and to talk to Him.  Even though you don’t see Him you can be absolutely certain He is there.  He is waiting for you.  He wants to be your star forever and ever.

Thoughts to meditate on:

  1. Have you ever seen a shooting star or a falling star?  What is different about the morning star?
  2. How did the wise men find the Christ child?
  3. How do we find Jesus today?
